Asian Premiere of Dead Before Dawn 3D
Director April Mullen along with Writer and Producing Partner Tim Doiron will be heading to Tokyo for the Asian Premiere of Dead Before Dawn 3D.
The film will be showcased as a part of Telefilm Canada’s Perspective Screenings during TIFFCOM October 24, 2012 at 16:30 – Cinema Mediage (Screen 3) and at the Canadian Embassy October 26, 2012 at 16:00 – Oscar Peterson Theatre.
April Mullen and Tim Doiron, a young producing team out of Toronto, Canada, have caught a lot of attention by being mavericks in the world of 3D independent filmmaking. They will be available for a Question and Answer session after the screening at the Oscar Peterson Theatre. Directing Dead Before Dawn 3D confirms April Mullen as the youngest person and first female to ever direct a Stereoscopic 3D Feature Film. It was also the first fully Canadian Feature Film to be shot in Stereoscopic 3D.
Japanese native Kenji Sato will also be in attendance. Mr. Sato was the Key Special Effects Make Up artist onDead Before Dawn 3D and his work is extremely unique. Mr. Sato will also be available after the screening to speak about the process involved with the creation of the Zemons in the feature film.
The film, which was shot entirely in stereoscopic 3D, follows “a bunch of college kids that accidentally unleash an evil curse that causes people to kill themselves and turn into zombie demons, aka Zemons.”
The Emmy-award winning Christopher Lloyd plays the occult shop-running grandfather of Casper Galloway, played by Devon Bostick (Diary of a Wimpy Kid Franchise). Martha MacIsaac (Superbad), Brandon Jay McLaren(The Killing), Brittany Allen (All My Children), Kevin McDonald (Kids in the Hall), Ellen Dubin (Napoleon Dynamite), and Rossif Sutherland all co-star in the film.
